Marta Baravalle, A Summary of an Experience within Education Nationale

The aim of this essay is to describe a teaching experience in a French secondary school. After introducing the social and geographical context, field observations will provide the starting material for an analytical comparison between French and Italian educational systems. Throughout the essay, it will be observed that the organisation of time and space, the variety of methodological approaches and the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education not only define the normative educational structure but also tend to convey an idea of teaching fairly detached from the wider concept of individual education.
