Luce Irigaray

philosopher and psychoanalyst, lives and works in Paris, where she is research director at CNRS. Since 1961 she has been teaching at the University of Vincennes and has been part of the École Freudienne de Paris founded by Jacques Lacan. Forty years after the release of her revolutionary book Speculum of the Other Woman (1974) Irigaray, to whom we owe the elaboration of the well-known theory of sexual difference, continues to be a fundamental point of reference for the reflection on sexual identities.
