Andrea Baglione, Tragic and freedom in Carlo Michelstaedter’s works

Analysing the cultural and existential events which have contributed to shape Michelstaedter’s thought, the author focuses on the educational meaning implied in the work of Michelstaedter, drawing on some of his writings; a meaning which has often been forgotten and that has roots, like Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, in a firm criticism of (middle-class) society and of its strict conventions.
