Enrica Lisciani Petrini, New ears for new music

Starting from the “new music” first introduced by Claude Debussy, the author focuses on the main moments that have changed musical research within the twentieth century. A different outlook that has involved all artistic forms and that has become the key of comprehension of current culture. The analysis of the different steps within musical interpretation (from Flemish music to Palestrina, from Bach to Debussy), allows us to understand the deep sense of what Pierre Boulez used to define as real conceptual revolution.
