Giuseppe Spadafora, Education as political act for democracy

Starting from the epistemological complexity of the establishment of educational knowledge, investigated in accordance with some exemplary models of the twentieth-century culture, the author proposes a reflection aimed at underlining the origins of the category of education. Hence its innate political dimension emerges, according to the dialectics between adjustment and transformation which marks human life. Education as political act, then, that only in democracy can find its more appropriate dimension, in reference of that organic and “natural” relationship that education – as showed by Dewey – maintains with democracy itself.
