Antonio Erbetta, The reciprocal action as form of educational experience
In this unpublished essay Antonio Erbetta proposes an educational interpretation of the idea of “reciprocal action” developed by Georg Simmel. It is about a “movement” through which the contents of culture become the contents of subjective life and the elements that govern subjective life become “values of culture”. A reciprocal and dynamic relationship is then established, which concretely acts on life and culture, on the relationship between individual and society and on the idea of education. Recalling the work of Simmel and his intellectual personality also in teaching, this essay shows a further perspective of sense to Simmel’s idea of “education as life”.
